Atlantis Hotel

I am taking a good friend of mine on her first cruise ever in January.

We will be in Nassau for about 14 hours, and I think it would be fun to drag her over to Atlantis.

I was there a little over a year ago when we sailed the Maasdam, and we did the dig $25, but that was all it allowed you to do. We wandered around anyway and all the staff were very nice to us and did not bother us at all, however that was all we did was wander around the ENTIRE grounds. I am sure if we just wanted to we could have used the slides and the beach it was that lax. But I keep seeing people mention that the staff was very strict. Also I do not remember seeing any guests wearing wrist bands like we were, should we just have torn them off? I mean I would not want to be wearing a wrist band if I was a guest of a resort would you?

I keep seeing people mention this "day pass" thing that does allow you to use some other facilities besides the Dig. SO my question is Has anyone ever actually experienced this NEW "day pass"?

I am sure that my friend and I would be able to pull of a "we belong here" thing, but why feel stressed to do that when we can actually Belong there?

I think that maybe I should just call the resort, and report back here about what I find out.

I am sailing to Nassau on 1/4/04 and am interested in doing the same thing. Here's what I've found out. The $25 day pass allows you access to the dig, and a tour of the hotel. Here's what my wife and I are going to do. We are going to book a room at the Comfort Suites next door which gives full access to the Atlantis. I found an online rate for 189$ plus 12% tax. You may want to try that.

we did the atlantis thing in july. we were a group of 12 people. There are now guards at all entrances to the beach and pools who will NOT let you by them unles you have the wrist band. You can rent a day room , which we did and it comes out to 50.00 dollars per person. So for my family of 7, we ended up paying 350.00 for the day and that got all 7 of us in the hotel and was allowed to use all the slides and pools. It was a great day...the grounds are wonderful and so is the pools and beaches. It is worth it if you are going to spend at least 6 hours over there.

There are many restaurants in the Atlantis, from the very very very expensive to the moderate expensive. We took some food from the breakfast buffet with us and ate it there on the beach.
