we took the atlantis "glass bottom type" boat in Grand Caymans. Actually half of the boat was above water, but you spend most of your time underneath the water in the glass portion of the boat. It was well worth the money for my and my wife and my three kids. They take you over a few ship wrecks and there really are alot of fish to see, and I mean alot. this is alot cheaper than the actual submarines and I can't imagine that you see too much more life.We went snorkeling at our next stop in Cozumel and there wasn't too much difference in what we saw, however it was alot more fun to actually be in the water and be able to swim down to something if you wanted to.
