Okay I have read many posts regarding the evening attire on Celebrity. We are not slobs , and we own formal wear and we love to wear it to dinner on formal night.
However, I am not prepared to walk around in high heels and a long gown all night, DH is not interested in wearing his TUX until bed time either.
So..... I assume that on formal night or any other night that it is casual attire for the evening buffet. If so, do they still expect you to get dressed up to go to the show if you ate at the buffet?
I am no cruise virgin, I will be on Cruise # 12 in Nov- 17 nights on the Westerdam. We were always told HAL was so dressy , but have not really found that to be the case. We were always told Transatlantic Crossings were more dressy, did not find that to be the case either. We are close to booking the Mercury for an 11 night Mex Riviera and everyhting I read says that you are required(not expected) to stay dressed up the entire evening on the ship.
If that is the case then I am not sure that Celebrity will be for us. Let me restate that most of the time we are better dressed in the dining room on any night ,than 90% of our fellow passengers, however we change our clothes almost immediately after dinner.
I notice some of the premium/upscale lines like Oceania are now using the all casual attire of their cruises as a selling point. Of course that will be to some and not to others.
