Hi

I am travelling in a group of 4 girls...only 1 over the age of 21. As a result, I have to prepare 3 letters stating that each girl is allowed to travel as a minor under the guardianship of the one 21+ year old. This is my first time doing this, and I want to make sure the letters are correct as you have to presnet this letter when boarding, and If you don't, you cannot cruise.

Has anyone else had this issue in the past? Can you please give me some tips or information as to what should be included in this letter?????????????????

thanks!!!!!!!!

These letters have to be notarized and you will need permission for any medical treatment.. I think you better check it out on the US Government site Read the fine print on "terms and conditions" Just recently a woman from this area was taking her daughter to Mexico (her husband stayed at work) and was denied boarding..until a State Trooper took an authorized permission over the phone and notorized it. The other thing is there has to be someone over 21 in each cabin Read the Terms and Conditions in the back of the book..under "Minors"

Thanks for the information.

I'm alittle confused though as to where to look on the US Government site. I went to firstgov.gov..........then where should I go?

I really appreciate your help!

Hey Ashley, I just read your post. I didn't realize you need that if you were over 18. From looking at other posts on this topic and reading NCL's policy, it looks like you need just a pretty general letter saying that you are allowed to travel. Here are two places you may want to look to get a good model to use for your letter.

You may want to add the statement, "I also authorize medical treatment for my daughter in case of an emergency." Then have your parents sign it in front of a notary and you should be good to go. It seems like it's more of a formality than anything. I hope this helps.

Also, remember, that there is supposed to be an over 21 year old in each cabin with a minor...
