If you go to St. Thomas, I highly recommend that you tour with Sunny Liston Tours. For $25, he or his wife pick you up at the port in an open air vehicle which is new and well maintained. You are then taken downtown to shop. You can choose to get off the ship and start your tour at 9AM, 10AM, or 11AM. The earlier you go ashore, the more shopping you get to do. Our first stop was downtown. There is a straw market there. The downtown shops are almost all jewelry stores. If you are looking for cheap souvenirs, go to the straw market. Tee shirts are 4 for $10. Knock off purses are all prices and styles. My husband bought me a Luis Vuitton for $65 and it even has a LV tag on it. After shopping, we were taken on an island tour. Sunny gave us a lot of information regarding the history of the island and the significance of many things we saw. He also made the trip fun by playing island music and singing all along the way. We went to the Mountain Top and had a banana daquiri that was to die for. After the tour we had a choice of Coki or Sapphire Beach. Sunny suggested Sapphire and that's where most of us went. The beach and water were beautiful. We even had an iguana come to visit us on the beach. You can rent 2 chairs and an umbrella all day for $10 each. Sunny was there to pick us up right on time and return us to the port. We still had plenty of time to shop at the great stores at the port. We were so tired that we were in bed by 9PM that night. St Thomas is beautiful in most places, a little run down in some places, but with Sunny, you really get a feeling for what real island life is like. He has a website: www.sunnylistontours.com. I highly recommend him.:thumb
