Has anyone done this excursion in St. Thomas? My group did this recently and had a good time, except for the captain of the ship. Don't remember his name, he had blond hair and a mustache. Anyway, I guess he was trying to be entertaining and funny, but came off as obnoxious and insulting. One woman, who bore the brunt of some of his jokes complained to her husband about his suggestive remarks. I heard later from the afternoon group (we were morning) that he complained that we were the "deadest " group he ever had. Hey, it was early...maybe we were, but it was our hundred bucks! Has anyone else had an experience with this guy? What did you think?

Happy cruising,
Mark

We were considering this excursion. Can you tell me more about it / describe it? Was it worth the $$? Did the guide's attitude put a damper on the experience?
Thanks!

Most of our group were glad they did it. It was a great experience. That said....when it was time to surface, we all agreed that we were ready for it to be over with. My initial reaction was one of amazement. I've never done scuba, so this was my first experience at breathing under water, it was quite a rush. The sights were fantastic! The divers brought crackers which they would crush and release in a cloud to attract fish...which were abundant. There were barracuda and in the distance, what appeared to be a shark, although it was pretty hard to tell at the distance...it never came close. On the down side...the thing only goes 2- 3knots and you constantly have to correct your steering to keep going forward. There is a diver assigned to every two bobs and you just follow him. These things put together gave me a feeling of too little freedom and by the end I was starting to get bored with it. While five people at a time used the "bobs," The others could help themselves to snorkeling equipment and explore a bit by themselves...I had a blast doing this.

Over all, I was glad I did it.

Hope you have a great cruise!
