Does Royal Caribbean use the local time or the ship's time when arriving / departing from a port?

Thanks!

It all depends.................sometimes they stay on ship time, some local................very important to read your compass each day(they will tell you if they change the clocks or not)........and take note of the sign as you leave the ship(telling you when to be back onboard)..

ALWAYS ship time. The ship's time might be the same as local time and it might not be. Nonetheless, you ALWAYS go by the ship's time.

And most likely ship's time will be and stay the time zone of the city the ship departs from. Change your watch to ship's time and leave it!

THe people who miss the ships are ususally the ones who do not heed the warning to stay on ships time.

we witnessed the "not paying attention to the time" first hand in St. Maarten in November. We were docked across the pier from the Carnival Freedom and watched as it backed out and was turning around, heading out to sea when 3 passengers came running down the pier. It was like watching a wreck, where you dont want to look, but cant help it. There were alot of screams, crying and yelling...the passengers tried to get the harbor pilot to take them out to catch the ship(no go) then they came over to our gangplank and I assume they were trying to make a deal and get on our ship(no go #2)...eventually a pier agent came and got them and drove them off the pier. When the Capt. says to be back by a certain time, we always get back at least an hour before. I will not go through what I saw firsthand. And there are clocks onboard so theres no reason why you dont know the correct time.
