Back-to-back/Century

Hi,

My husband and I are taking back-to-back sailings on Century for two weeks in September. We booked through Travelocity. Special deal. Saved money. But now we have three questions and no travel agent:

a) We can't sign up for Captain's Club (ie, free upgrade for second Celebrity cruise) until we've finished our first cruise. So at some point during the first cruise, can we sign up for Captain's Club on board and expect an upgrade for the second half of our back-to-back cruise?

b) Even though there's appears to be many rooms still available on the sailings, we were unable to book the same room for both legs (Panorama deck, inside). What do you think the odds are that Celebrity might move us into a room we could occupy for the entire two weeks?

c) Finally, will we be permitted to stay on board while others are leaving after the first leg of the trip? If not, is it even worth trying to arrange a stay in the same room for both weeks?

Thank you,
Amanda

Yes you can join cc while you are onboard, however since you are already booked and the cruise is set I don't think they will give you and upgrade. By the time you sail the ship will be full and they will have nowhere else to put you. Also even though you booked through Travelocity you can call and speak to a rep. and ask any ? you may have. They are very nice and always willing to take the time to help you out.Just because you booked online does not mean you can't have an agent :thumb You can call Celebrity direct and ask alot of your ? also although they can be a bit off so to speak :lol They may be able to help you get a cabin that you can have for both weeks. Yes you do need to get off the ship but you can also get right back on a enjoy a quiet dip in the pool.Enjoy your cruise the Century is a great ship!

We too are doing a back to back on the Century but not on the same dates as the original post. My question is, why do you have to get off in Fort Lauderdale after the first leg, and then get back on? We've done a back to back before and didn't have to get off. Doesn't make sense to me why you have to get off.

You don't have to get off. Just take your ticket for the next cruise down to guest relations on the Friday sometime. If you wish to get off they will give you an in transit pass to get back on again.

We did the Century B/B in February. You don't have to get off, but you do have to go to the gangplank and refresh your signature card. Also, call Celebrity and tell them you do not want to change cabins, and ask which cabins are available for both legs. It took about two hours on the phone -started with them wanting about $85 pp - and ended up with getting one category upgrade on one leg and no additional cost. Same cabin both legs. Just be polite and persistent. You may end up with a great deal.

Thanks to all for the info : )

I'll be on the phone to Celebrity this evening...and, as it turns out, must call Travelocity, too. We were credited with only one $100 refund on credit card slip, sted of two $100 refunds as promised by Travelocity.

FYI for other cruisers: I've booked dozens and dozens of flights through Travelocity since 1993 (I think it was Sabre then) and have been most satisfied. But booking the cruise has been very unpleasant. The site first wouldn't take my credit card, insisting the info was wrong (note that this is the same credit card I use for flights with no problem). When I called Travelocity, reps sent me to credit card company. Spent more than an hour on phone with credit card folks (Mastercard) and they finally sent me back to Travelocity...Travelocity never figured out the glitch, but finally booked us via phone overriding computers. The next day, a confirmation email revealed mistakes in the Travelocity bookings. I called and emailed to correct and now that I have my credit-card statement, I see that Travelocity still goofed. Strike one: Wouldn't take my card. Strike two: Sent me on a wild goose chase to fix a glitch in its booking system. Strike three: I must call back a third time to get them to fix a problem. ARRRGH.

Century Thalassotherapy, take me away : )
