Bahamas or Western Carribean with young kids

We are currently booked on a Bahamas cruise on Triumph 5/29/05. but I recently found very nice price for a western Carribean cruise with stops in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios. We are considering switching, but our kids are young --- 9 and 5. We don't cruise every year, but it is forseeable that we could cruise again after the kids are older. Would a cruise to the Bahamas--which we don't have to fly to-- be better for young kids? (we are planning on dolphin swim and overnight stay at Atlantis)

What do you think, Bahamas or Western Carribean for the kids? My DH and I have been to the Bahamas before, but our main consideration is the kids happiness. What do you think?

Help.

I've been to both the Bahamas and the Wester Caribbean. Both offer options for fun, but I think the Bahamas offers just a bit more--especially the Dolphin tour, which most kids seem to love. If the difference in cost will allow you to add a family-oriented tour or buy some fun gifts for everyone, then the WC may seem like the better selection. If you decide on the Bahamas and if you have time after the dolphin tour, visit the beaches on Paradise Island.
