Balcony Question

For those that have sailed the Inside Passage....

We booked a balcony located on the rear of the ship. Not Starboard or Port... but Aft ....as in looking to the rear... My reason for this was that I'll be able to see 180 degrees.. not just to starboard or port....

Any opinions or thoughts about an Aft Balcony?

Many people seem to like a balcony on the aft end of the ship. I have never had a balcony so I wouldn't know. When in Alaska a balcony would be great. I have cruised Alaska multiple times. When in near the glaciers the ship will position itself so one side of the ship gets a view for awhile than the other side of the ship will get a view of the glaciers. Having an aft balcony may not make a difference when the ship is pointed in because you will not see the glaciers that are at the bow of the ship. It will be nice on the way out of the fjords because you will have a longer view of the glaciers.

We had an aft balcony on our cruise on the Radiance to Alaska in Aug. 03. IT WAS WONDERFUL!! We booked another aft on the Serenade back to Alaska in Aug 04.
