Love this forum! Lots of great advice. We have decided to do the Legend/ Western 8 day and now I have a balcony question.
Last time we had an 8G and it had a little bigger balcony. It will cost us more per cabin verses an 8A, I think over $100. Is it worth it? Do any of you have a suggestion where we should be on the ship. There will be at least 8 cabin that I need to hold. I really don't want to do the upgrade gaurantee because who knows where they will put us. I prefer set cabin #s. Is that the way I should do it if we all want to be next to each other? I have always booked mid-ship. We were on deck 7 on the Pride.
Thanks again!

booking 8 cabins-- please call a group department to get good amenities. Booking as single cabins will get you the same price as everyone else. Booking as a group you get a lower price. maybe smaller deposits. and others--maybe cabin credit or a free coctail hour.

Standard Balcony 8A, 8B, 8D, 8F and 8H
Extended Balcony 8C, 8E, 8G and 8I Balcony

maybe consider booking all your cabins together on the aft?

the pride and Legend are sister ships-- exact layout.

serene,
We are booking as a group. $l00. ship board credit and it is $900. pp including port charges. Does that seem reasonable? Also standard balcony verses extended---is there much difference??
Oh, and that price is for 8A and set rooms.

If you book eight cabins, generally you get one cabin free. The regular balconies are 40 sq. ft. (about 4 x 10) the extended balconies are 60 sq. ft. (about 6 x 10). The extra two feet makes it more comfortable to sit on the balcony.

8 days for 900 pp is good. When Ibook my cruises I like to see my price set about 100 pp per day. so your price is not that far from the mark.

IS this a group cruise or booked individually.. for eevry 8 cabins sold--one bed is given free. Which I inturn turn that around and diviid it up per cabin---not family or pp.

serene,
Yes, we are going for a group and hope to fill 8 cabins and get the 16th person free. Sounds like I might want to get the extended balcony. It seems like $100. more p.p. for extended is a little high but maybe not. We will divide up the "free" between all the cabins and every cabin is getting $100. ship board credit and I think thats it. Is there a way to get more freebies?? I am a past guest ,10 times,(you'd think I wouldn't need to ask questions but...) so you would think they might give you more perks but it really doesn't seem to matter how many times you have cruised with them.

10 times on carnival will get you a platinum sign and sail card. That and a past quest party.

Work with the group department to find out what amenities are available for your week.

I am doing a group on Liberty in February and the only perk that was offered to us was a free 1 hour coctail party.
Each sailing has a differnt points assigned to it.

Thanks serene,
What is a platinum card do for you? Anything? We havebeen to the cocktail parties here and there for past guests.
So far it looks like our pts. will get us $100. ship board credit per cabin and I think that is it.
