Balcony Stateroom differences on NCL Sky

My husband and I are trying to book on NCL Sky for November this year. We are planning to book a Balcony stateroom and I'm wondering if someone can tell me, other than different decks, what is the difference with the various codes? For instance, we are looking at the Fjord deck and it has two different codes. One seems to be on the sides of the ship and the other is on the end. Is there anything I need to know about this? Has anyone been in one of those end cabins?

I'd appreciate any advice you can give me. My husband has never cruised and I have only been on Carnival in a Oceanview room on the Riviera Deck. We're hoping to book this week so I'd love some input on our choice of Balcony cabins on the Sky.

Thanks!

Stephanie

Location, location, location..................

Not familiar with the ship but in most cases, category codes will be based on location and deck of the ship when cabin layout is the same. This is because some areas of the ship are considered more desirable than others and the category is changed to facilitate pricing structure.

Hi Bob and thanks for your response. I realize it might have to do with Cabin location and some of them have obstructed views but in this case, the cabins that are making me curious are a different code for cabins on the same deck (Fjord) and the ones that are in one category are along the sides and the ones in the other seem to be at the back of the boat. Any thoughts on the postives or negatives about those rooms?

Thanks again,
Stephanie

Even on the same deck, location is the controlling factor, not an NCL cruiser so do not know much if any about their reason for category designations but hang in and a good chance one of our resident travel agents can chime in and clear it up for you. But for sure, if they have placed a cabin in a higher priced category they have done their homework and know it commands more money because it is over all a more desirable cabin.

Bob pretty much has given you the answer. By the way, balcony cabins never have obstucted views or I have never seen one. The difference in catagory is pretty much based on location. I will add one more thing, if you can get a cabin in the very aft they are wonderful and sometimes a little larger.

We had 9220 right before Christmas on the Sky and it was a perfect location for us; near the stairs/elevators, kids center (we took our 4 y/o grandson along with us). The room was sufficient for the three of us. My husband slept on the pullout sofa and if you should get this room I would recommend you have them get you an eggshell mattress if there is a third person with you as this sofa had a huge dent in the middle when pulled out, although hubby said he was comfortable. I hope you like curried food and hectic dining because this was the first time that I experienced both on a cruise.
