Hello,

I would really appreciate some help on the process of a Balcony Stateroom Guarantee. First, I like the idea of saving $600 on my cruise. What are the negatives of booking a balcony stateroom guarantee? Are there balcony rooms that would deter from my cruise? This is my first cruise ever. I really don't want to regret taking the guarantee. I'm nervous about it and need to make a decision. I would really appreciate help from anyone. Here are the prices for the standard rate lowest priced guaranteed room selection and the balcony stateroom guarantee. This is for a 7 day cruise from Galveston to W. Carribbean leaving March 1st on Voyager of the Seas. Thank you so much for your help. My wife and I really appreciate it.

A balcony guarantee simply means that for a reduction in the price of the cruise you will allow the cruise line to choose your cabin for you. You might end up in a basic balcony cabin (which is what you paid for) or you might get upgraded. This could mean a slightly bigger balcony or better. HOWEVER, most likely, IF you do get an upgrade, it will just be to a better balcony cabin.

Of course by allowing the cruise line to pick your cabin for you, it means that you will end up in a balcony that no one else wanted. I am not aware of any balconies on the Voyager that I would consider negative. However, there are more desirable locations, like on the hump, the rear facing balconies, mid ship cabins and cabins near the elevators.
