Balcony vs. outside cabin?

Hi. I have sailed once with an inside cabin & did'nt mind being inside at all. What are the perks of a balcony & is it worth the extra price?

Hmmm... personal preference, really. Most of us who have had Balcony cabins once, HAVE to have them every sail after that! Some say why bother with the added expense since "you're hardly ever in your cabin anyway". I found I was "in my cabin" a bit more and enjoyed it more when I had the Balcony! It is so nice for Sail-Away in your very own private viewing area! You can bungy the door to the balcony open and nap during the day lulled by the sound of the waves, and sleep this way at night even! You can enjoy your morning coffee on it, and read and sun your self in peace -- it's is much more quiet as compared to the Lido deck. Yep, it costs more, but for me it is well worth it. Maybe try it once and see what you think. Be careful, though, you may become spoiled like me! :)
Happy Sails! : ) :) :) :) :)

It all depends on what matters most to you. For some people they don't spend enough time in the cabin to pay the difference in price. For us, we enjoy the balcony. Every morning we have coffee and danish while we sit out there. Some afternoons we relax and read, or I take a little nap while listening to the waves rock me to sleep. We often have a glass of wine in the evening before we retire for the night. Most of all it a great experience to wake up in port and be submerged by the view.

I have to agree with the balcony lovers. We had our first balcony last Sept. on the Grand Princess. We are having our second Aug. 23 on the EOS. We had enjoyed fully our previous non balcony cruises and if needs be I will return to inside cabins. BUT, it adds a whole different dimension to your trip.
You do use your cabin more when you have a balcony.

I never bothered with room service coffee and/or breakfast when I had an inside or regular outside cabin. Got up, showered, dressed and went to breakfast.

With a balcony it's much more special. Lingering over coffee as early as we like, ordering omlets, hashbrowns with oj and eating it on your balcony as we sailed along or pulled into a new port was a great experience.
Cocktails before dinner or a nightcap under the stars in your jammies if you like is another option.
Any how, yes it is worth the money to us.

yeah, the only good thing about the inside cabins is the price, I think the whole experiance of cruising is enhanced by having your own place to relax, enjoy the ocean in your private spot, but if cruisin with an inside room was all I could afford,I'd still go!!
havin fun
