Just how private are the balconys on triumph? On a past cruise (not triumph)while on a tour of the ship we walked down some public stairs and there our dinner mates sat on their balcony, you probaly could have jumped form the stairs onto their balcony. I cant justify the extra cost for something like that.

You are most likely referring to thd catagory 11 balconies on Fantasy Class ships. You are right, these balconies have no privacy and are about the smallest balconies of any I've seen. Like you, I wouldn't pay extra for these cabins. In contrast, balconies on the Triumph are very private and are significantly larger.

I'm with you...I have trouble justifying the extra expense of a balcony cabin - even if it's more private. When we cruise to Alaska and Panama..in the future sometime...we'll want balcony cabins for those. But for our regular crusing unless we're presented with an offer we can't refuse (like $20/pp more than an ocean view cabin) we generally don't book cabins with a balcony.

The ones that have impressed me the most are the ones that wrap around the corner of the ship in back. They are larger with more furniture space, etc.

Well the cruise we are looking at will be on either the triumph or victory. And would more than likely be the cheaper balconly. My wife is the one who would like one, but I have never been on one either. But if its what she wants then Im happy to give it to her.......if its worth it. She likes the topless deck just not all the old guys who get "lost" up there.

Also if anyone could direct me to some pics. of the balconey rooms that are a lil better than carnival's web site. I would really appreciate it.

Definately more private than a public deck !
Nothing better than having my morning coffee on the balcony while at sea or pulling into a port.
I think they are worth every penny.

Try the aft balcony cabins on the Triumph they have more room and privacy than the side balconies.

We love the balcony cabins. Out of the 5 booked now 1 does not have a balcony.Really nice watching a sunrise or sunset.

on our Truimph cruise, we booked a balcony on deck 7 right next to the suites. so yo're mid ship a touch away from the elevators as private as a balcony can be. In addition, on deck 7 you don't have to mess with the elevators much unless disabled. two flights up you're on the main lido deck where everything durring the day happens, at night go two floors down the the promanade on 5 so no waiting. plus I've found that booking near the suites gives less hallway noise than deck one or two, take the comment as you will, it's my experience.

)now our cruising buddies had and aft (back of the ship) balcony. but the diveders go on a slant and if you're standing at the beam to the ocean you can see in the others balcony's, not true of mid ship. the extra space comes at the privacy price.

you'll love the triumph and the itinerary- consider the bio bay or just walk the town, keeping with the tourists, no dark streets.
