We like to do some inexpensive shopping then hit the beach. In Barbados there is a nice mall at the dock. We did the glass bottom boat that our ship offered as an excursion on our own for less money. There is a tourist info. booth in the mall. Afterward my daughter and I wanted to go to the beach but, my husband didn't. The man at the tourist info. booth found us a cab driver that he knew personally to take us to a nearby beach where we rented an aqua trike. Then we shared a van back to the ship with a bunch of people. In St. Lucia we hired a taxi driver to take us to Caribelle Batik for the most beautiful reasonably priced clothing you have ever seen. We beat the ship's excursion there. We had our own demonstration on how the fabric is decorated and died. We had the dressing room to ourselves and we left just as the bus was arriving. Then our driver took us to Reduit (Red-wee)Beach. He dropped us off at the St. Lucian Rex. We walked through the open air lobby to the beach.
