Bathroom Amenities

I was just wondering if the bathroom is stocked like a hotel room or if there is anything I really should bring from home. Just wondering - since I was told to keep my packing down.

Last time I was on Carnival there was a basket with shampoo, conditioner, lotion etc. The cabin steward kept it well stocked.

Hair dryers in the cabins can be pretty weak so I always bring my own.

I was on a Carnival cruise this past Dec.08. They only had disposable razors for male/females and colgate toothpaste.

Another time they included packaged frizz vitamins on another cruise ship.

The Suites have more amenities like extra bars of soap, small bottles of shampoo/conditioner, shoe cloths, shower caps,
razors and body lotion.

You can also request extra boxes of tissues for your bedside and vanity table.
You will find a thick robes and pool towel in your closet too. Luci

You think I am photographing strange things? Where do you think I get the ideas for what to photograph? Questions come from these boards, and I try to photograph the answer on my next cruise. Lets face it, with digital photography I'll bet 1000 photos cost me less than 1¢ (since I already own the camera).

I know what you mean Cruizer. I take tons of pictures of cruise ships. Susan's mom used to joke with me that I took more pictures of ships than I took of Susan. :)

I agree, with digital photography it's so easy to take pictures of stuff you never would have wasted the film on before. And it is a big help to show people who have not cruised before to be able to see what it's like. On our cruise in Dec on the Inspiration, they had Crest toothpaste in the foil packs, razors and a few other things. Also the liquid soap and shampoo in the shower. I think you can ask the room steward for items that you may not have and they will being them to your cabin. I remember once we ask for something and they brought it to us. Normal toiletries they didn't charge for.

I have to second what Luci said. We got back a couple of weeks ago from the Carnival Triumph and all that was in the bowl were disposable rasors and little trial packets - not tubes - of four flavors of toothpaste. They still have the body wash and shampoo on the wall. And my hair isn't thick, but I have trouble using most of the hair dryers they supply.

Take conditioner! The salt air/water is rough on hair. I take a hair dryer since the one provided is less than great. Eye drops come in handy also.

During the time leading up to my cruise, I plan on picking little samples of toiletries.....get alot of samples in the mail too. They don't take up much room and I don't have to repack any of it and drag home with me.

Well, the photos are three years old now. So here are a couple of photos from the Carnival Victory (which is very similar to the Carnival Destiny) from August 2008 ...

Does anyone have pictures of the cabins on the Pride or a ship similar. We have a balcony room and I was told that it was a waste of money. I don't think so since I want to enjoy the balcony, but since this is my first cruise I would love to see what an actual room looks like instead of looking on the web site.

I have photos of our Balcony Cabin 6259 on the Miracle November 2008. I'll see if I can upload them and post here when I'm done.

I always bring extra bathroom amenities because I prefer certain shampoos/lotions/soaps but they are usually well stocked like others have stated.

I have posted the photos I took on the Miracle. The album is in the Cruise Addicts Gallery. Called Cabin 6259 and the owner is Karan Abshire.

I would suggest that you bring extra clothes hangers. I never have enough with what is provided in the cabin. Also, I usually bring a SMALL hanging shoe rack made of cloth to keep my bathroom items and makeup sorted. There usually is not enough shelf space for all that I bring. And finally, there is only one outlet near the desk. Bring a small power strip if you have things to plug such as a battery charger, hair dryer, laptop, etc.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Cruiser. I do not know how to include a link or even how to post a photo on the thread. Appreciate your help.
