Last cruise we were on we were not permitted to take the beach towels off the ship when we went ashore to a beach on our own. Does anyone know the Celebrity policy on this? Beach towels take up a lot of luggage space.

Celebrity provides LARGE beach towels in your stateroom. When you bring the towels back to your stateroom, the cabin attendant will provide clean ones in place of the ones you used.If you neglected to bring back the towels to your staeroom you will be charged for them. What i did on the 1/12/2004 Summit cruise was to get pool towels by the pool and place them in our beach bag.

something that I always like to mention in these threds is for you to keep in mind security ashore. Your towel (which you can get like thmsmcdnld says above) will tell EVERYONE that you are a tourist from a certain ship.

The beach towels in your room are to use at the beaches.
Towels for use by the pools can be found on racks poolside.

Towels in the room provided by the steward are a great convenience. They collect the wet, sometimes sandy towels and give you fresh ones each day. As for folks on the beach recognizing you as a tourist because of your towels---well, most of us look like a tourist anyway--the locals don't need a towel to tell them that we're definitely from out of town! My hubby is a tall guy so we have asked for an extra towel and the steward always provides it.
