Interested in finding out about Pineapple Beach in Antigua. Heard you can get a day pass there but need more information about that. Or - what other beach is recommended?

It's a great beach. Nice sand, snorkelling, a few places to eat or drink, beach chairs and umbrellas are available and a few stands where the locals are selling things. A more peaceful beach. Loved it.

Finally - someone answered. Thanks, Ironman417. Is it a public beach or is it in front of a hotel?

It is a public beach, as I believe all the beaches in Antigua are.
The beach has a curve to it and I know it has two hotels on it, along with just open areas and the locals selling their wears. They are not obtrusive and are friendly. I know there are two places that sell food and drinks.
You can catch a cab right at the ship's terminal and go along with other people from the ship as soon as a group is formed. The beach is not really crowded.
To get a look at the beach look up www.longbayhotel.com If I wasn't on a cruise this is where I would be.

Pineapple Beach has a day pass that includes your breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) for $45 a day. This is the option I am thinking about in Antigua or Jolly Roger Resort.
