Beaches in Cozumel

We have a group of 3 couples (in our 50') going to Cozumel in Feb. I have been checking out the beaches there...should be do Paradise Beach or Playa Mia....and should we just grab a taxi and go by ourselves or book an excursion thru the ship? Thanks!

I've been to Paradise and it is just one beach club after another....so technically you can have the cab driver drop you off in that area and then go to whichever club you want to. You'll need to order drinks/lunch in order to use the chairs/umbrellas. It was okay.

If you are into snorkeling, you might want to see if Dzul Ha is still open...it is a rocky beach, not a sandy beach, and there is great snorkeling there. A cab took us there and when we were ready to leave the bar tender guy called a cab and one came and picked us back up. It was only the 4 of us all day there. Sweet!! It has been 5 years since we've been though, so I don't know how it is now, maybe not there after Wilma and Charlie went through?

Did the cooking class at Playa Mia and after we were done,hung around awhile...............I was not impressed......wouldnt go to that beach......

Been to Playa Mia 3 times - loved it. Lots to do - nice beach area - pool is great w/swim up bar. We have done it both ways - purchased on ship and after you get there. You are buying an entrance to the park/beach/other areas and the transportation is on your own in either case. We're scheduled on the Voyager in March and will go there again!
