In response to Einstein suggestion from the community board, I'm sharing some thoughts on what to do in St. Thomas. Although I won't be going on my 1st cruise til 1-7-06 on the Golden Princess, we did stay in St. Thomas for a week this past Jan. 05. We stayed at the Frenchman's Reef Marriott (for all you repeat cruisers, that's the big Pink hotel on the point by itself as you're coming into the Havensight ship dock. Some of the things we did: took a 1/2 day sail on a catamaran to Buck Island to snorkel w/ sea turtles (thedancingdolphin.com), went to Coral World at Coki Beach and did SNUBA there also, went to Paradise Point and bought some REAL pirate's booty from Sean at "The Pirate's Chest" (it comes with certificates of authenticity-Atocha stuff and more), went to Moutaintop, Drake's Seat, Magens Bay Beach, and the best excursion of all***a day sail to the British Virgin Islands on the New Horizons II***(newhorizonsvi.com-i think). Some good places we ate: The Greenhouse (waterfront-Charlotte Amalie-diverse menu/seafood), Duffy's Loveshack (Red Hook-bar food/seafood), The Shipwreck Tavern - across from Havensight(bar food-good burgers), Mafoli - up on mountain(diverse menu/seafood), Blue Moon-Secret Harbour i think(diverse menu/seafood),and Bella Bleu (near the waterfront Charlotte Amalie-diverse menu/seafood), and Pusser's on Marina Cay, British V.I. We had a great time there and I highly recommend doing a land cruise in any of the V.I.'s. We got most of our info in preparing that trip from www.vinow.com. They have a msg board as well. anyone interested in seeing our pictures go to:

Before we began cruising - many, many years ago - we stayed on St Thomas for 2 weeks and did everything you did as well as going to the off islands.
