Hi, This is our first cruise and I would appreciate it if someone could answer a couple of questions. Thanks!!!

Is is worth it to rent a car on Cozumel?
Any Laundromats on Galaxy?
Can you bring your own liquor?
I don't like small speed boats, can anyone add any conforting info about the tenders in Belize?
Anyone ever use the tour group Cbelize for the Alta Hun Tour. Thanks for your help.

Some good news and some bad news - you sort out which is which!
On a cruise a year ago, one of the ports we stopped at was Cozumel. There were about a dozen cruise ships there that day. There is only dock space for three or four. You might encounter tendering there also. We did. A cab ride into the shopping area was about $10 for the entire cab load of people. No more than $3 a person. I can't help you on a car rental there but I would not want to have to drive through the shopping district.
I don't think there are self-service laundry facilities on any of the Celebrity ships. We did not have any on the Horizon.
Go to the "Know Before You Go" message board and find the topic about smuggling booze on board. There is some good (also some hilarious) information there. As a gift from a US Air flight attendant, we had a magnum of champagne and several minatures in a carry-on bag. In addition, we had two bottles in the checked luggage. No problem with either approach. I would suggest plastic liquor bottles if your favorite brand is available in them.
Don't let the thought of tendering get to you. It is no big deal. They will either use the lifeboats from the ship or hire a third-party tendering service. The tenders hold 40 or more passengers and are not like a small powerboat at all. In both Cozumel and Georgetown, the trip from ship to shore took no more than 20 minutes.
Have A Great Cruise,

I wouldn't suggest renting a car in Cozumel. Driving and parking within the tourist area is difficult at best, and from what I've heard, the roads outside the city limits are poor to non-existent.
No self-sevice laundry facilities on any Celebrity ship.
Can't help with the liquor question.
Small speed boats are never used as tenders. Ships carry their own tenders or have an arrangement with local services. The tenders into Belize are local and carry maybe 60+ pax at a time. Because the harbor in Belize is particularly shallow, the ship anchors furthur out and the tender ride is a bit longer than most.
An excellent and dependable local tour operator in Belize is Reggie. He can be reached at www.regtour.com.
Good luck and enjoy your cruise!

My wife and I were in Belize last September during a Western Carribean cruise on the Galaxy, it was our favourite port of call on the trip.

We booked the Celebrity excursion to the zoo and then by speed boat down the river and back to the cruise ship. We saw crocodiles iguanas and a lot of monkeys, it was really a fabulous trip.
