how long is the tender ride in Belize? If we have an early excursion will we be able to do it? We're planning on one around 8:30 or 9 am We're on a Carnival cruise if that makes any difference thanks
In Belize, tendering is primarily done by local boat owners contracted to the cruiselines. Most of these boats are pretty fast, as they need to be because the ship will anchor about 4 miles off shore. As I recall, the ride took no more than 15 minutes.
Cruzman is correct, about 15 minutes. We were in Belize last week on the Carnival Legend. There were 4 other ships there on that day so that stretched the time to get a tender sometimes. I don't know if this applies to all Carnival ships but the Legend stayed on Eastern Time while Belize is Central Time. We took a private excursion and made very sure our guides were aware of the correct departure time according to local time. If you are taking a independent excursion and need to get on an early tender, go to the area where they are having the ship excursions gather and just tell them you are taking a independent early tour and they will squeeze you in with one of the groups so you can get off early. Otherwise the ship justs lets off their own excursion groups first. They were very nice about this with us.
