Best Balcony Cabins on Spirit, Pride and Legend

Can anyone recommend the best balcony cabins on the Spirit-class ships (Spirit, Legend, Pride)?

I've sailed on the Celebrity Millenium and loved my cabin on the back of the ship. Am looking to see if the Spirit-class ships have something similar.

What about vibrations on Spirit class ships? The Millie is turbine-propulsion (I think), so the noise and vibrations were non-existant.

Thanks.

We had a cat. 11 on the Pride. We felt a lot of movement and vibrations. The bed vibrated. We felt movement in the dining room, show room and casino. It didnt bother us. But after being on RCCL's Voyager of the Seas and feeling no movement at all even though it was hurricane season, we REALLY noticed it.

We sailed on the Pride in Cabin 8273....category 11 in the back of the ship. The cabin was great and had a huge wrap around balcony....I'd highly recommend it. I'm partial to this location on a ship. We had a cabin in the same location on the Triumph, and our cabin on the Glory in September will be in the aft corner as well. You can't beat those wrap around balconies...and being in the back of the ship, I find it to be really quiet...not a lot of "traffic" in the hall and it's just a quick run up to the lido deck for food and drinks!! :girly

We were quite happy with our category 8 room 8116 forward on the Pride - great balcony view, close to the forward elevators and just a floor below Lido deck for sun and food.

We noticed a very light vibration just about everywhere, but it didn't bother me at all. It was most noticeable in the dining room (it being right above the engines) but it wasn't bad enough to eat. The berth (bed out of the ceiling) that I slept in did vibrate a little, but not enough to bother me at all.

Kristin, that aft corner sounds real nice! I dunno if I'd want to be facing backward though.

We recently cruised on the Pride and enjoyed our extended balcony cabin # 7196 on the port side on the Verandah deck. It was situated nicely between two other decks with cabins only (not under or over public areas) and was quiet because the entry doors for the inside stateroorms are on the starboard side corridor. Can honestly say that we didn't notice any vibration at all. You'll love the "spirit" class ships!!

We sailed the Spirit on April and found that the best cabin with the best value were the Cat 7 cabins. We had cabin 5160 and the only obstruction was from the balcony railing down. We still had a wonderful ocean view and saved money in the process to spend on things like more souvenirs. We were mid ship and movement was minimal (it was rumored that we had had 15 foot seas). We had silence at night with no problems.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

We had 4 couples on the Pride this past May. We had balcony staterooms in the very stern of the ship (Empress Deck) I had 6262. They were outstanding!!. At night it was absolutely beautiful with the ship's wake out the back and the stars in the sky. There was a slight vibration, but it actually made sleeping enjoyable. I found the bow of the ship to have more movement than the stern. During the day was great. Just a short couple of flight's of steps or a quick elvator ride to the Lido Deck. We enjoyed it so much, we're booked on the Glory for next year and got the same cabin arrangement.

I am booked in the Legend's 8i category on the back of the ship. Question for those who've had the back rooms before: Can the people above you look down onto your balcony? What if you have the Panorama deck (we do!), and there are people at the pool above you? Is there noise? Help!

We just returned from the Pride last month and we will be going again on Pride Sept.
We had a midship cat 8. No vibrations at all, but did have some shaking the first night in the dining room. It would be wise on Sprit class ships to study the deck plans as the balconies jut in and out (the ones that are futher out are smaller), but if your balcony is "next door" to one that sticks out you cannot see forward or aft. To try to answer Boatgirls question. I have had aft staterooms on Destiny and yes, you can look down
but you cannot see the last entire balcony, just the 2-3' closest to the rail. (So beware
where you sunbathe). Some of these wraparound balconies have very large balconies.

We had a Cat 8h on the June 14 sailing of the Pride, midship toward the Mermaid Grille. There was absolutely NO vibration, noise, movement, etc. There was a slight vibration in the dining room the first night out. We never felt anything in the Taj Mahal Showroom either!

Boatgirl,
We were in cabin 8210, Panorama deck... just a few doors down from your cabin. We heard NO noise from the Lido deck, and it's so handy in the morning to walk up the steps and be right in the Mermaid Grille for breakfast!!!! You'll love the location of your cabin, plus the privacy of the balconies on the Panorma deck is Premium!!!! <EG>

I switched my room to the one directly below it--cabin 7300. The reservations agent for Carnival said it is more quiet because that pool (the one with the kiddie slide) doesn't close until 10 pm!

we love cabins on the stern, they are often larger than side cabins and have way less wind, on alot of the ships you can be seen on the rail of your balcony, but if you get closer to the door you'll have better privacy. we are booked for the pride when it comes out west this fall, we have been to the riviera too many times, but I was able to get in 2 cruises this year by avoidin airfare on this one.
have fun

I did it again! I read a tip on the community message board and changed my room to #7258. The balcony there is three times that of the aft room. I hope I did the right thing--what do you think? It's near the elevators--will I get elevator/people noise all night long? Is it worth it to keep this room? Does the huge balcony (same price) outweight the elevator location? HELP! Thanks in advance--there may still be time to switch back!

The New Year's Eve cruise. It's our anniversary. I thoughtthe balcony would be pretty nice to have for the special occasion.
