I need help deciding which beach to visit on St. Thomas/St. John. We plan on taking the Eastern Caribbean on the Glory 3/20/04. I am doing a lot of research, however can't decide which beach to visit: Trunk's Bay on St. John, Coki Beach or Magen's Bay on St. Thomas? Can I visit 2 beaches in one day? I want to see them all (not really interested in shopping), but realize that time might be a limiting factor. And does anyone have any recommendations for St. Martaan? Orient Beach? Can't wait to cruise on the Glory, Camelia

#1 Trunk Bay in St. John, gorgeous beach, great snorkeling! #2 Megan's Bay in St. Thomas. Yes, I believe you could go to both in a day. Orient Beach in St. Maarten is also great if you don't mind the nude dudes (gals).

Thanks Cruzman - I just have been reading some reviews saying that Trunk Bay is actually a little bit disappointing and that you don't see as many fish anymore. With respect to Orient Beach - are the nude duds/gals everthere or just where the Club Med is, on the left side I believe? Thanks Camelia

Camelia,

I was at Coki beach last month and I was pretty disappointed. The sand and water were nice, but the snorkeling was marginal and the facilities were dirty and run down. Some rasta guy tried to sell my son drugs too. I wished I'd gone to St. John's or Magen's. We went to Orient too. That was awesome. Dawn beach on St. Martin had nice waves and great snorkeling beyond the breakers. Interestingly, we saw no nude folks at Orient but there were a few topless ladies at Dawn's. Have fun!!

I was not disappointed at all by the snorkeling in Trunk's Bay on St. John. In fact, it is certainly one of my best snorkeling experiences (probably a close second to Stingray City in Grand Cayman). But you've definitely got to hit Paradise Point (go up the mountain next to the shop in the gondola) and have a Bushwacker at the cafe on top. It's the best after a long day at the beach.

We absolutely loved Trunk Bay. It's one of the most beautiful beaches that we have ever been on. My husband was not disappointed with the snorkeling there.

We did not care for Coki Beach, like the above poster stated the the water is of course very nice, but the the run down buildings take away from the beauty.
