We will be visiting Curacao for the first time in a couple of weeks. We would love to spend most of the day at a beach with beautiful sand and water with a great view and facilities. Please make suggestions. Also, if there are any must sees on the island, please let me know. Thanks so much.

We went to the Seaquarium Beach. The charge a minimal fee for entrance and chairs, but its well worth it. They have several bars, restaurants, and small shops. To us, it was one of the best beaches we have been to, complete with crystal blue water and lots of swaying palm trees - highly recommend!

The Seaquarium beach was great and my recommendation too. Take a taxi, pay admission ($5?) and enjoy your time in the sun. Have the taxi driver return for you at a pre-set time. If you want to explore, walk over to the aquarium for a view of the native tanks and shows.
This is the best thing to do at Curacao IMHO. The driver could leave you off in downtown so you could explore. A visit to the Indonesian style hotel at the edge of the port is a nice place to stop. They have a bar out near the pool at the water's edge, too. Don't miss a walk across the Pontoon Bridge.

Bon Voyage

Can you snorkel at the sea aquarium beach. Do they have snorkel equipment for rent. - if so - how much. are the restaurants/bar expensive at seaaquarium beach.

I'm pretty sure you can rent snorkel equipment, but I'm not sure if its worth it. The beach is protected by a rock wall which pretty much keeps everything but water away from the beach. However, people were swimming and snorkeling on the other side of the wall, but the water was pretty rough.
The bars and restaurants were a reasonable price -about $6 for a hamburger and fries. Not bad for eating lunch in paradise! Its a beautiful beach - I'd highly recommend it.

We just returned from our first cruise last weekend. Curacao was our favorite stop. We too went to the Seaquarium, but we opted to do their Animal Encounter snorkling offer. Basically, after a short talk about the rules, we were given buckets of anchovies, and turned loose for as long as we wanted in their protected cove. There were all kinds of reef fish, stingrays, pufferfish, and groupers in there. Of course, they were used to having people around touching them, so they would come right up to you and eat from your hands. You could also feed the sea turtles in an adjoining enclosure, through a fence designed to let you keep your fingers. You still have to be careful with them, though, as they were pretty aggressive.

I don't know if it was unusual, but we had the cove to ourselves for about two hours, before a group of scuba divers showed up. Even then, it was not busy. We enjoyed the encounter tremendously.

The normal rate for entry + the animal encounter was $28.85 per adult.
We took the tour/salespitch of the timeshare resort next door, and got a $15.00 rate per adult.

I didn't really look at the beach up close, as we were not looking for a beach experience that day. I can tell you that none of the beaches in that general area were busy at all, as we saw very few people from any of the places that we could see the beach.

Here is the web address to the seaquarium...
