Hi There! This will be my first visit to Jamaica ( on Carnival Conquest ) and I'm trying to decide on a tour. I was checking out Jamaica A-Z and am torn between their Rose Great House/Beach tour and the YS Falls. I'd love something that combines something like a coffee plantation, waterfalls and a beach. Any ideas? Thanks!!!!

Melissa, We will be visiting Jamaica (Mo'Bay) ,for the first time also, in December. I read nothing but raves about Trevor Hudlin as a guide and, boy, have they been right so far. I've had immediate response to my emails and then a follow up phone call from him once we had decided to book with him. There's no deposit required either and I thought the prices were very reasonable. We will be setting our own itinerary but, if you prefer, there are set tours also. He's been great at making suggestions to meet our interests. If you're interested you can reach him at trevorhudlin@hotmail.com

THanks for the tip. Is there a website for Trevor or does he just operate as a personal guide? What kind of tour did you book with him and what was the cost? I'm still undecided as to what to do in Jamaica. I'll email Trevor, but would appreciate any other info you or others have. Many thanks! :)

Hello!
My daughters and I took a cruise last October (Carnival-Imagination) & one of the stops was Jamaica. We booked the day through A-Z Jamaican Planners and had Oscar as our guide/driver. He was wonderful! They will plan your trip around whatever you want to do. We went to Dunn's River Falls (Oscar got us out without going through the market). We were in the 1st group to climb the falls and had a blast! We then went to a pottery, and then to Shaw Park Gardens. We wanted to taste Jerk Chicken, so Oscar took us to a local outdoor restaurant and ordered for us - best chicken we ever had! He also took us thru Fern Gully and later through a neighborhood with beautiful homes and gave us a history of the area. He dropped us off at Margaritaville (our request). We exchanged phone numbers/addresses. Much to my surprise, Oscar called me the day after we arrived home! It was great to hear his voice and remember our wonderful experience with him. I've read many "horror" stories about Jamaica...but Oscar made it a highlight of our trip. My daughters (ages 32, 26, 23) all chose Jamaica as their favorite port.

We went to YS Falls with A-Z Jamaica planners and all 8 had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this - although the tour just mentioned sounds great also! We also went tubing down the river from YS Falls. It was awesome. Just know that from MoBay to Dunns River Falls is about a 2 hour drive and to YS Falls is 1 1/2 hours drive on very narrow roads. We enjoyed the adventure of the ride though so we were not bored at all. It is VERY beautiful there and we were not hassled once by anyone. I too had heard horror stories before we went bur we did not experience any of that.

Has anyone used the service from Winston's Tour? He charges $150 for a full day tour of Jamaica, for up to 4 people.

Melissa - We booked him exclusively for the day. We'll have a 2 hour drive through towns and villages to Ocho Rios, go river tubing, stop for lunch, see (but not climb) Dunn's River Falls, etc. His charge for us is $200 for the day for transportation and we will pay $20 each for the tubing. We like having our own personal guide so we can stop when and where we want and since we have our adult daughter and my sister traveling with us it will be $70 each - which I think is very reasonable. Princess charges $79 for their jungle river tubing tour. One thing to note - the river tubing out of Mo' Bay is now strictly for those who book through the cruise lines but we're looking forward to seeing more of the island as we travel to the one out of Ocho Rios.

We just got back from the Conquest and Western Carib. Winston is a MUST! I've been to Jamaica twice before and hated it. Winston took us rafting, Rosehall, lunch at the Ritz-Carlton, then Margaritaville. He was wonderful!!! He charged us only $25 per person... of course you're responsible for lunch and any attraction admissions. He kept the beggars away, making it very pleasurable.

I STRONGLY recommend Winston! Just do a search on Winston Edwards Jamaica, you'll find him. Tell him Dean from Oklahoma sent you.

How do you contact Trevor??
Does he have a website or email address?
We'll be in Ocho Rios in February and need a good tour guide to show us around, take us to Dunns River Falls, and take us to a good lunch spot.

How soon in advance should I book with him?
Thanks!

Trevor Hudlin's email address is trevorhidlin@hotmail.com his web site is www.34.brinkster.com/trrvhudlintours/default.html tel: 876-973-7008. We just got back from The Carnival Conquest 6-13 . Yes he answers email great. I even spoke to him before the cruise. We were on our Honeymoon. We had a great time with Trevor when we docked in Montego Bay. He was there before us waiting...(holding his sign with his name) Easy to find him. The tour was so nice, fun, and very knowledgeable. He is very flexable. We went to Ocho Rios to Dunns River Falls. Very safe driver. Trevor has his time set to the ships time so you will not be late. We got back with time to do more shopping. Wow!! I have so much to say about him. Feel free to email if you have any question about him or the cruise. RinaAlston@aol.com
