Best place to get updates on Danube river sailings

Good day all,

This is my first post so please go easy on me if this isn't the right place to ask this. We keep reading in the news about the low water levels on the Danube (among other European rivers).

Where is the best place to go for updates from either the cruise lines (defintley not on their website!) or passengers who might write reports about current conditions.

We are scheduled to depart Passau, Germany for a 7 day cruise on September 3, ending in Budapest, Hungary. Emerald cruise lines. I have been not been able to find many updates on the status of these cruises in the last few weeks. I do see that on cruisemapper, the boat we are supposed to be on has been docked in Bratislava for the last 2 days (when it should have been sailing between Passau and Vienna) so I'm not too hopeful.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Why not just ask your cruiseline and if you do not like what you hear then we can follow up with some suggestions. You have the right place to ask

The cruise line says they are monitoring the situation but our cruise is too far out to provide us with any information yet. It’s the answer I expected which is why I am interested in hearing from people that are currently cruising the Danube. It would be great to hear others experiences.

I see what you are after . Can't say I blame you. I know that one cruise line is shuttling pax back and forth in the middle of their main river voyages. Ships are all alike. So you go as far as you can and where there is too little water left they bus you and your stuff to the boat coming the other way (along with your entertainment staff) . You get the same room and complete your trip. Pax going the other way do the same thing on your boat. Big well known company. Not sure if yours would have the resources to do that. It's going to be a problem for a while unfortunately.
