in jueau the dog that is a standing guard at the dock is patsy ann. they say she was a orphaned dog who was deaf.  but she had the uncanny ability to know before the ships came in that they were coming and she would be there to greet them.

also there is a tour group called dolly varden. i dont think there is a dolly involed in that. it is just a name i beleive. 

then in ketchikan there is ''dollys house'' on creek street.  it was brothel in the gold rush days. you can take a tour through it and see what a real whore house would have looked like.
