better to park at pier or use hotel park/cruise package in Long Beach?

We got our cruise all finalized yesterday. We're on the Pride leaving 6/3. WooHoo!!! This will be our 4th cruise and all the others were far from home so we have a shuttle (either from the rental car or hotel) drop us off at the pier after flying in. This time we're driving. We will be staying in a hotel the night before the cruise.
My question is-
is it worth it to get the park/cruise package at Best Western Long Beach which costs about $40 more than the regular room rate and then take their shuttle to the pier and then get their shuttle back to the hotel to pick the car up after the cruise?
We're all about saving some money, but after tips both ways it won't be too much of a difference (about $25). The parking lot at the pier is $84. Would it just be easier to park at the on site parking lot than waiting for the hotel shuttle?
With the pier parking you just grab your luggage and walk to the ship across the street, right? The garage is right there from what I understand. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Are there any other hotels that have great and hassle-free park/cruise deals?
Thanks for any help.

For a cruise I was on several years ago we drove to Long Beach and stayed at a hotel nearby. The hotel did not offer a park/cruise package so we drove to the pier and parked there. I can't remember what we paid...we only went for the 3 day Ensenada cruise. But it was really convenient and the parking garage is right there. You only have to walk a short distance out of the garage and there are plenty of people right there to take your luggage to the ship. If the cost is comparable between the park/cruise pkg. at the hotel and parking at the pier yourself, I'd rather park at the pier. When you leave your cruise you may not feel like waiting around for a shuttle to take you back to your hotel.
