Can anyone fill me in on the Blue Lagoon in Bahamas and exactly what is there to do and is it a good place to go?

Beautiful place. You can swim with stingrays or dophins for an extra fee, you can relax in hammocks overlooking the beautiful lagoon, you can eat and drink, there are a few shops for souvenirs, you can lay in the sand, there is a small playground if you have young children.

It is a great place if you want to just kick back and relax. If you are looking for something more "hopping" this is not the place. Stingrays were ok, but I most enjoyed the hammocks...just about had to flip me out to get me to leave. Of course this could have been because it was first time away from my 3 yr. old and I needed the quiet! :)

Hope this helps.

We have 11 of us and our kids (two families) are made up of older teenagers. Will Blue Lagoon be a "Cool " enough place for the teenagers?

I was at the blue lagoon back in '96 and was 16 then. I LOVED it! I swam with the dolphins and this was a very memorable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone. I know prices have gone up quite a bit since then, but in my opinion its worth it. And the teenagers (and everyone else) will love blue lagoon.

Does anyone know if you can get to Blue Lagoon on your own? Or do you need to book through the ship? Thanks!
