Boarding - How early Legend

How early will they let you start the boarding process on the Legend? We are staying overnight the night before and our check out time at the hotel is 10:00 am.

Hi Eric,

Wow, 10:00 am is a very early check out, but not impossible.

I was just reading our documents yesterday, and noted that boarding is supposed to be from 12:00 until 2:30pm. And they ask that you not arrive more than 30 minutes prior to the start of embarkation. That would be 11:30. If you leave the hotel at 10:00, and catch a taxi, (and if your hotel is near the airport) you would be arriving at about 11:00. Only 30 minutes early, even less if your car ends up in a wait to get to the pier area. I guarantee you that there will be lots of people there ahead of you.

If you have to wait, that's not so very long, and if the previous passengers (and the customs people) are speedy they may have already started boarding. Heck, I say enjoy the wait. We've met some great people while waiting in the boarding line who became shipboard friends once on board. It is what you make it.

We usually let the hotel know we won't be checking out until about 10:30 and it is never a problem. We're usually at the pier by 11:00 and have been up in the buffet having lunch before noon. Not every time but some times. They usually ask that you do not go to your cabins until 1:00 or later. We'll do the same thing when cruising from Tampa in November.

We have arrived at the pier at 10:30 both times that we sailed on the legend. Porters took our luggage, we parked and walked back to the check in line before 11:00. The check in process had already begun. There are a number of things that could cause a delay in the process, but that is the luck of the draw.

That has been my experience as well. Usually on board by 11:30 ish. As Cruzman said though, anything can cause a delay with boarding. They had all those fog issues for a while. I think the regular check-in line goes faster than the VIP.

I do not know of any hotel that will not allow you to check out and hour or two late.

Not usually a problem. Most hotel check out times are 11:00 - 12:00. I doubt that I would book a hotel with a 10:00 AM check out unless I knew I could stay until at least 11.
