We have an early booking price on Elation out of Galveston. 5 people,7 nights, family stateroom, oceanview,3799$$, for July 2004.. they are telling me this is an early booking discount. Should I go ahead, is this a good price,or wait and book later? Anyone done the Elation out of Galveston?
Thanks

Is the TA you are talking to about booking willing to watch prices and try and get you the lower price if the price does go lower? If this is the case you may want to book now especially if you need a room big enough for 5 people. There are not a lot of rooms on ships for 5 people. Due to the size of your family you may want to book now just to make sure there is a big enough stateroom.

No such thing as a "family stateroom" on the Elation. Whether the price you have been quoted is a good one or not, kinda depends on what catagory cabin is being quoted. The highest cabin catagory is 12, and I cannot fathom putting 5 people in a smaller cabin. If you are being offered a catagory 4 or 6 at that price, forget it. Of course, the time of year will also have a lot to do with pricing. Summer Caribbean cruises are much more expensive than Fall and winter.

It sounds like it might be a Cat 12...and the price seems about right for a Cat 12 with 5 people for a 7 nighter.

The price is in the ballpark for several online quotes that I have accessed. Understand however, that you are proposing to put 5 people in a cabin that measures 10 feet by 18 1/2 feet which includes the bathroom and closet space. The cabin will have two lower beds and two uppers. The fifth person will sleep in a rollaway bed. And.... you've all gotta use the same bathroom. If you like each other now, you may not by the time the cruise is over, LOL. With all of this in mind, and you still wanna do it, go for it. Before booking, I would check with at least one of our resident TA's such as Lori Cunningham, or perhaps get a quote from cruisequick.com. Happy sailing!

We just booked a cruise on the destiny in February and we have 4 people going, my agent suggested to us to get 2 staterooms, you might want to look into it for 5 of you, it is only going to be $100.00 more for the extra stateroom then what it would be for all of us to stay in one then you get 2 bathrooms, and double the storage room... our total cost for the cruise is $2103. for 7 nights for 4 people... if we only took 1 stateroom it would have been $2003.

I dont know if Carnival will allow 5 in a stateroom. but I do know when it comes to trips and quads there arent that many so you need to book as soon as you decide the vessel you want.
