Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on booking our shore excursions?? Being that the Destiny is a big ship, should we book at the pursers desk as soon as we get on ship or should we just relax and book them thru the funvision when we get to our cabin?? I am a little nervous being that the ship is so big and there will be so many other people trying to get excursions?? any advice would be very much appreciated!!
Salute,
Maria

I did research on the internet. I found out exactly what I wanted to do and booked privately without going through the cruise line. I had incredible shore excursioins and paid almost 1/2 the price . I would highly recommend this to anyone.

The Victory and the Elation...the last two carnival ships we've been on...both had different ways of booking excursions. Since the Destiny is newer than the Elation I would guess you can use the funvision to book your excursions.

I, too, found out what Carnival offered and had a good idea of what we wanted to do before we left.

As soon as you arrive in your cabin the excursion information is available - usually with all the other welcome aboard papers. (Make sure you check it as they sometimes add new excursions that weren't online.) However, you can not book through the TV until immediately after the lifeboat drill. It's a fairly easy process. I booked ours as soon as we returned to our cabin and we had our tickets the next day.

On the Elation the television wasn't set up to book...so we again looked at the excursion information when we arrived. Filled out the form and while touring the ship dropped it in the appropriate slot. We had our tickets the next day.

We've just returned from the Glory yesterday.
We booked our tours through the funvision and we were able to book time as we got in our room at 1:30PM. So keep checking. I asked when we checked in what time we would be able to book our tours on funvision and she said as soon as your sail and sign was up and running. So after we ate lunch and could get in our room (1:30) we checked and we could book.
