BOTFLY'S in Belize

Okay...I am going on the western Caribbean cruise and we are stopping in Belize and I have heard the cave tubing is great but I am very nervous about botfly's. I will die if I come home infested with them or anything else. Do I need to wear bug spray or will it not even prevent it? Has anyone had any problems with bugs or anything else when traveling into Belize or on cave tubing. Thanks for the help!

When we went to Belize they said not to worry about Botfly's on the river tubing. But there was a lot of noseeums(SP)
They are bugs that bite and you don't even know they are there. Just make sure you use something that is water proof. Your legs and arms are sticking out the most but then you are constantly moving your arms but your legs kind of just hang on the tube. I used something called frogger with suncreen. No bites until we went to Roatan!!!

i did the cave tubbing there and it wasnt buggy we went in may but when ya go take water shoes with you i did it bare-footed and the walk to the river is a lil rough thru the woods and rocky trails
