My husband and I went to Port Canaveral on Friday and were at the port Saturday (Nov. 9th) morning at 11:00 am. We were not allowed to drive to the terminal to drop off luggage. They had not disembarked all the previous pax yet. They told us to wait (along with many, many others) in the 'Day' Parking Lot and they will tell us when we can go to the terminal. I think it was about 12:30 when they said we can go to the terminal. We all lined up in our cars and waited forever before they started letting us drop off our luggage. Once we dropped our luggage and parked the car, we waited in line again. Once we checked in and got our cabin card, we waited in line again to get on the ship. I think it was after 2:00 when we got in our cabin. We had a Cat. A mini-suite and it was great. We loved the size, layout and balcony. Cabin Steward (Dani) was great. We never had to ask for anything. We had first dining as requested. There were plenty of people complaining that they were supposed to have first seating but were assigned to second seating. Our tablemates (table for 8) were great and sooo funny. Our waiter was almost non-existent except for first and last nights. Our Assistant waiter (Asep) was great. He really tried his best to take care of everyone while the waiter (Tommy) was nowhere to be found. Food was lacking in variety and was bland. A few evenings we didn't like our dinner at all. Of course, Tommy was never there, so we couldn't ask for anything else. We just went to the Lido and got something there (usually cake and ice cream :lol ). Of course, we didn't go hungry. It wasn't that bad. We loved the ship but found it hard to navigate. We went the wrong way many, many times. Still we loved the ship. It is beautiful and very clean. Staff for the most part was great. Jessica was the cruise director and I have nothing good to say about her, so I'll say nothing. We loved St. Maarten and St. Thomas. We are not beach people, so we were not impressed with Half Moon Cay. People who like the beach will be impressed though. We were late getting back to port canaveral. Disembarkation was a mess. In general, I found the staff a bit unorganized (couldn't answer questions). I think we got off the ship at 10:30. Luckily, there was a porter available. Overall, we had a great time and will do HAL again, but will also do other cruiselines. There were some things we like better on RCI and some things we like better on HAL.
