After much research we are putting together an excursion group for the following. First of all, private tours will afford us the opportunity to get into most of the major attractions without having to wait in lines. Another plus, we'll have our own personal tour guide to point out points of interest, make suggestions, find interesting places for lunch, etc. Also, when compared to some of the prices of the ship's excusions, these tend to be a great value.

At the moment, it's just the 4 of us who will be touring privately in Villefranche, Livorno (Florence/Pisa), Rome and Athens. Most private tour companies have small coaches (vans) that can accommodate up to 8 people. After extensive research we have found some outstanding tour companies and we'd be happy to forward all information we have to date.

If anyone here on this board is interested in joining our merry band, we'd be more than happy to have you join in. Please let us know what cities you might be interested in seeing with us and and we'll see if we can arrange for a truly memorable day of private touring.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Hi.
Unfortunately, we are going to be on Brilliance just before you (8/4 - 8/16/05).
If it is not too much trouble, would you mind sharing the names, web sites of, and/or e-mail addresses
of the private tours you have arranged for Villefranche and Livorno?
So far, the only thing I've booked is in Naples (I don't think your cruise stops there) for the Amalfi Coast, but I'm in a quandry over Villefranches (is half a day tour enough? I've heard Villefranches itself is very picturesque and relaxing
to spend some time) --thinking of St. Paul de Vences/Cannes?? -- and Livorno. I have been to Firenze
before so I am thinking of Pisa/Lucca. Anyway, in Villefranches and Livorno, the private tours seem a good deal pricier, so if you have any contacts or information, that would be great.

Thanks. Janine salvey@mindspring.com
