Butler and Concierge Service on Dawn

We're traveling on the Dawn's 1/4/04 sailing to So. Caribbean and have booked a Romance Suite. I can't find great pix on the Web, but it looks reasonably large. We've sailed on Celebrity Millennium and Constellation several times and have always booked the Family Suite, so I hope this is comparable. One question: other than size, what are the perks of the suite? Some messages have referenced a concierge benefit... and the NCL site says "butler and concierge service available." What does this mean? Does the concierge help with shore excursion and dinner reservations? Can we get restaurant meals delivered to our room by the butler? Do these "services" come at a fee? (Other than gratuity, of course.) We're very excited, but nervous about the freestyle concept as so many postings express concerns about crowds and lines. We don't mind paying extra for conveniences, but I'm not sure what to expect. Also, do you know if they have a soda program, other than for kids? Sorry for all the questions!

Hi cruisemom
I also booked the Romance suite for my March cruise. The suite is one room aprox 290 sq. feet. It has a queen size bed, small love seat and chair and a table with 4 chairs to dine on. I hear the deck isnt that large either, enough for 2 lounge chairs and small table. As far as the concierge yes, they will book excursions and make dinner reservations for you. The bathroom has a tub and shower combo. If you go on the NCL site they are the only one that shows the Romance suite. All the other sites show you the AB suite and say it's the Romance suite........Linda

PS
Yes to the Butler delivering meals to your room and no there is no charge except for what ever you choose to tip. Yes, the soda card is for all that choose to buy one.
Although I haven't sailed the Dawn yet I have been gathering as much information about her as possible. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. The only reason I chose the Dawn (besides her leaving from NY) is for the freestyle dining. Take care, Linda

hi~ we're on the same cruise. Our 2nd on the Dawn. She is a beautiful ship. I believe in the suites if you have a butler you may order off of any menu for room service. (no charge, except for gratuity)We hardly ever used it however. The caesar salad is very good though.

Consierge service is really great!
You can pick up the phone or visit his/her office..get everything done for you!
Specialty dining..all pre-arranged.
Tours ..pre arranged..except snorkeling or scuba since, if you use the NCL Dive-In program, you must complete the medical forms first.
You will find nice little treats in your cabin everyday around 4pm.
Consierge on NCL spoils you!

We make sure we book at the consierge level on all our NCL cruises. We even had a "bad" one once and she still got everything done we asked (she had quit her job and had a chip on her shoulder).

The suite you are describing is the AB suite, not the AD suite.
They are falsely advertising the AD suite as the AB suite. I called Travelocity about this and their answer was "This is the information that NCL gave us". Meanwhile, NCL has the right description of the AD suite on their site. As I stated above, It is one room at 290 sq. feet, a queen bed, a table and 4 chairs and small loveseat and chair all in one room. The bathroom is a tub and shower combo. I originally booked the Romance suite believing it was the AB suite but even though I learned differently I decided to stay with the room anyway. The romance suite was expensive enough without adding another 1,500 to upgrade to the AB suite..................Linda
