When I was in Florence 4 years ago, I bought beautiful leather coats . . . soft soft soft for a very good price. I have never been to Spain, can I get leather there too?

This is my first cruise, so I want to be aware of where I can get good leather coats. Thanks much.

Spain is known for its leather, but mostly in the South of Spain---most notably Sevilla. Buyers beware though, if you were in Italy four years ago, you would have been using the lira, which was sooo cheap. Now they're on the Euro, so anything will cost you a lot more.

We have been to both Florence and Spain and I would recommend Spain as being the best and probably the cheapest.

My husband and I both bought beautiful coats from the Department store which is right through Spain - I think it is L'Englaise something. They had a wonderful range and at good prices.

I also bought great shoes in Madrid. I bought them in 2000 and am still wearing both pairs today.

You only have to drive through Spain and see all the cattle. They have to do something with the hides.

I agree with Jennie - Spanish leather goods are outstanding. Some of the best and longest-lasting leather shoes that I ever bought were purchased in Madrid and Barcelona. If the price is within your means, I wouldn't hesitate one second about buying leather goods in Spain.

Thank you. Then I will look more seriously when I'm in Barcelona. I have a beautiful soft lamb's leather jacket I bought in Italy 4 years ago that is just now starting to look worn. I can't wait.

El Corte Ingles is the Dept Store that Jennie was referring to, there is one in Barcelona at the top of Las Ramblas(opposite end to the port)
You will pay a bit more in there, but the quality of their merchandise is superb

How do the prices of leather goods in Spain and Florence compare with those in the States?
