Can anyone tell me how much cabana's rent for on Half Moon Cay? We are traveling on the Carnival Triumph on Aug 25th, and we are going to Half Moon Cay. I had read the easiest and quickest way to make sure you get off the ship is to book a shore excursion. We think we just want to have a relaxing beach day there, so we thought about renting a cabana. Does anyone know how much they cost? I am not talking about the one that includes a butler, and your own cook, but just the basic cabana. Thanks.

Hello Scott,

We tried to rent one when we were there on a HAL cruise last year. It was our 35th anniversary, and we were going to treat ourselves. But they were booked up several weeks before we sailed. There are only a few available.

Price was about $ 199. per day. Which is about the same as Carnival charges. But with HAL the rental does include having a butler bring you some free drinks. There is no kitchen (so no cooking) as the Cabana is merely a three sided shed with a porch and an air conditioner.

It would have been very nice to have, had we spent a long hot day there, Unfortunately, we didn't arrive on the island until almost eleven in AM (waiting for tenders) . The sky started turning grey almost immediately. The wind whipped up and the waves got rough. They blew the ship's horn calling everyone back to the ship less than an hour after we got there.

I have no idea if anyone got any refunds on those expensive cabanas. We had rented one of the clam shell instead (only nine dollars). Never even got a chance to sit under it. No refund for that.
