cabin choices

The wife and I are close to booking our second Celeb. cruise. On some boards, I see people mention specific cabins. Other people who have sailed in the same cabins reply and discuss advantages and disadvantages.

We are considering a sky suite on the Century, seen some good prices, and want to hear from anyone who has sailed in this catagory. This is our first foray into a concierge class cabin. Is it worth the money? This may seem petty, but the idea of someone else packing my bags is not all that appealing, (guess I was absent that day at SNOB school)!

Is mid-ships better than fore or aft? What about deck choice?

Any help will be appreciated!!

We've stayed in SS twice (1201 & 1203) before on the Century are they are excellent rooms! First, try to get a port side room if possible. Next 1203,5,7 are in an excellent location - your close to the elavator and also a set of stairs that lead to the pool deck. All the balconies on this deck are huge except for room 1200 & 1201, which are about 1/2 - 1/3 smaller.

OK I'm a little confused. The Sky suites are not concierge class they have full suite amenities and have a balcony. The Concierge class are only on the Penthouse deck and have no balcony. With concierge class you get diff. amenities than in a suite class, which one are you thinking about booking? The Sky suite or the Concierge class cat CC?

I just looked up the balcony size in SS 1203, and it is bigger than the inside room we had on the Sun Princess. The suite includes a butler, and many other items you can find at the Celebrity website.

If you do mean a Sky suite then I would recommend the ones on the Sports deck because the balconies are huge :thumb They are the original sky suites and now they have them on the Penthouse deck also (they are formally a Cat 1 regular suite) and the balconies are not nearly as large. If you mean a Concierge class cabin then I would say any of them are fine but as you mentioned many people prefer to be mid ship so they have the least amount of movement. The Sky suites are 244 sq. ft. and the sports deck balconies are142 sq. ft. like I said they are huge. The Sky suites on the Penthouse deck are also 244 sq. ft. but the balconies are 69 sq. ft. so you can see the difference. We stayed in both and we really loved the ones on the Sports deck, we like being on the Sports deck itself, because it was quiet and really convenient to everything on the pool deck (resort deck). Like just going down the stairs and getting breakfast at the buffet.
