We hand picked L259 for our next cruise on the Golden Princess this coming February 2005.....we booked this specifically picked room on purpose.. for our Back to Back..when we reserved our sailing - August 2003.....we love the access to the pools.making us walk to lot's of venues and work off all of Princess's yummo desserts..
....Third time on a cruise we've requested this area.=love.....generally quieter,less foot traffic ,and all in all an area we have enjoyed so much..Good luck!!..have fun cruising..:daisy...Joanne

Thanks for all your advice about the Golden! We cruised the western caribbean on the Grand and loved it! At first I thought I'd rather be on a newer, less familiar ship but we're very happy with our choice! They ended up giving us Lido 308, not 307. Now I just can't wait to go! Any advice on what tours to take? Have you been to Barbados or St Lucia?

Well I'm glad if any info I gave helped..I have been to Barbado's and did the "Jolly Roger Pirate sail and snorkel.".just learn from me if you swing off the rope and dive head first...(Too many Diving competitions as a youth)...hint..do NOT wear a 2 piece swim suit..=blush darn near gave the world a show.barely had time to yank my swim top back up from my feet to my chest just before I surfaced..:grin....can you say Janet Jackson???..=eek..Now I always wear a Speedo diving type suit on excursions..:thumb.Another fun part was after the swim / snorkel was done and on our way back....... the free rum punch..I only had a little,... but the dancing,music ,conga line and the crew were AWESOME......... We are doing St Lucia in February and plan to do the Piton's Catamaran Sail and Snorkel....good luck ,have fun..enjoy it all..:daisy..Joanne

OH!!!! You gave me a great laugh this morning! I've thought about doing that Jolly Roger before but never have. There's so many things to do and so little time! I suppose this is part of the fun!

The Lido deck is the best deck to be on because you are near the pool and Horizon Food Court. One deck up you are at the Spa. I have stayed twice on the Lido deck. It is close to everything and quiet too.

Thanks for that info. We are actually in Lido 308. I'm very excited about this, it's our first balcony cabin! I'm glad to hear that it's nice and quiet. I was concerned about being so close to alot of traffic. The nearness to the spa is another bonus!
