WE WILL BE CRUISING WITH THREE PEOPLE IN ONE CABIN. WE HAVE BOOKED A CABIN THAT PRINCESS SAY BE LARGE ENOUGH FOR THREE. THIS A BC ROOM ON THE BAJA WITH A BALCONY. DO YOU THINK IS BIG ENOUGH OR SHOULD WE GET A MINI SUITE?

Considering the balcony cabins are 183 sq. feet vs 370 sq feet for the mini-suites which include a nice sitting area I would definitely say it would be beneficial to opt for the mini with 3 people. While the standard balcony cabins are NOT bad and U could do it I know U would be MUCH more comfy in a Mini. :thumb

Ditto what E said above. Pretty sure that sq footage includes the balcony, so a regular romm would be very tight for 3 people.

I agree... a standard balcony room will work, but I think you would be more comfortable in a mini-suite.

Einstein, (and/or) others,

When you speak of a mini suite being 370 square feet, which Princess ship are you speaking of? I have a mini-suite booked on the Golden; the square footage is 323.
Do ships have different size mini-suites on different decks?

Regards,

Donna

Yes the mini-suites size differs among the Princess fleet. For example yours for the Golden and the Grand are listed as being 323 sq.ft The Caribbean Princess lists theirs as 324 sq. ft., the Diamond and Sapphire lists at 354 sq. ft.,the Dawn and Sun lists at 370-536 sq. ft.and that includes the balcony and so on depending on the ship.

I also would say to get a mini-suite..DH and I do fine in a balcony, but if it were 3 people in the room,we'd book the mini-suite..IMHO...=twocents..:)..Joanne

Keep in mind that when Princess says it is big enough for three people what they really mean is that there is sleeping accommodation for 3 people!! It doesn't necessarily mean you will be comfortable "living" in that cabin. If the third person is a small child you might be fine, if it's another adult I would definitely opt for the mini-suite!!

I'm told my Baja Balcony cabin is 279 sq. ft. Call Princess and ask what the square footage is before spending the extra!!

Generally, the balcony cabins have two twins with a fold out for a third person. Usually the twins cannot convert to queen if there is a third person in the room. The mini-suites have two twins (that make a queen) and a separate area with a sleeper sofa that holds the 3/4 persons. Three adults will appreciate the extra room in the mini-suite, with a child it may not matter. Depends on how close your arrangements are at home, whether you normally share a bed/room and how messy you are with your stuff. We appreciated the extra room of a mini-suite with a toddler because it gave us a separate play area with toys and I did not have to crawl over her things trying to get dressed for dinner at night.

Which ship is this person going on? Different ships, different size cabins across the board.

Well, I haven't done three to a cabin but I sure have cruised to Mexico with girlfriends! We were four and did 2 cabins for comfort's sake! If it's not going to break your budget, and you all want to sail in the same cabin, I think I would try to book a mini-suite. More room in the cabin for all the "girl" stuff :grin Our little party sailed on the Regal Princess a few years ago and we had a wonderful time! I know you and your friends will enjoy yourselves thoroughly!! From all I have read and the photos I have seen of the Diamond she is a beautiful ship! I can hardly wait 'til it's my turn to cruise on her!

Hi Curise Mackel,
I'm also booked on the the Diamond and added a 3rd person and had to switch to a room that fits 3 people. They say it's larger but who knows? I'm going with my Mother and Aunt and the way I see I'm never in the room except to sleep, shower and change clothes. So... were sticking with the smaller room on the Baja deck.

Happy sailing,

We had a BC cabin on the Golden in April. The cabin was quite comfortable, however, it if you are with non-family members, getting dressed with privacy may be difficult. The cabin adds more space in the room, and the cabins on Baja deck are private, so there is some room to move out of the way if you have too. We were travelling with six, so the family members with us had four in their room. The only problem they found was, getting dressed for dinner, and having enough space for their clothes. As far as sleep goes, they all found the beds to be comfortable. Hope this helps.
