Cabin upgrade

We received our cabin number already. Is there any chance that we can still get a cabin upgrade within the next couple of weeks. We're leaving on the Imagination November 1, 2003.

I sailed on the Imagination a year ago and when I arrived I had been upgraded 2 decks. It was a nice surprise.

If you booked a guarentee, but have already got a cabin # assigned, call your travell agent ASAP. This just happened to us. When our travell agent got involved we got a HUGE upgrade to correct the situation. We went from a 4a inside cabin to a 6d. outside main floor!

we're sailing in Jan and have a cabin number already- does this mean there is no possibility of upgrade? How do I find out the rooms available on my ship? I've seen people post that they knew their ship was "full" or "had room"- Also, on the subject of alcohol, LOL, I heard a bottle of wine or champagne is OK to bring on the Carnival ships- any truth to that? I'm sailing for the first time in Jan on the Sensation

Carnival's website states that a passenger may bring one bottle of wine/champagne for personal consumption. If you want to drink it in the dining room, there is a corkage fee of approx. $10. I plan to bring a bottle of bubby for the big departure.

I'm new to cruising...how do you book a "guarantee?" And, what does that mean?

We just come off our first cruise (November 6th) on the Imagination. We had a great time. Everything was good! We're planning another cruise ASAP.

By the way, we did not get any upgrade. Is it because this was our first cruise? Or was it the travel agent. LOL

Sheryl,

A guarantee booking is a booking where you do not receive your cabin assignment until day of departure. For example, you can book a guarantee category 6A. This means you will receive at LEAST a 6A cabin, but you MAY receive an upgrade to a higher category. Keep in mind that if you insist on having a cabin midship or on a certain deck, stay with an assigned cabin. But if you are flexible and don't mind where your cabin is, it's generally a better deal since guarantees are typically a little bit cheaper than booking with a cabin assignment.

Just got off the phone with my Carnival Rep. We booked a 4A on the Fascination for January 2, 2004. I asked her how full the ship was she said it's about 1/3 full (we leave in 43 days) and chances of an upgrade are about 70%. I also aksed her if being a past carnival cruiser would that make my chances of an upgrade any better she said well it certainly can't hurt lol
