Cabins and kids

Hello! We are sailing the Triumph in January and have a balcony cabin for my husband and I, and we got our kids (ages 18, 15, 14) their own cabin. Our cruise planner assigned our cabins now so that we have the kids right across the hall from us. She said we can try for an upgrade by leaving our cabins "TBA" but there is no guarantee we'll be across from the kids. Do you think that's a big deal? They are responsible kids, but for safety reasons do you think it would be wise to have them across from us vs. down the hall or another deck? This is our 4th cruise (the kids' third) so we sort of know the routine (if that makes sense!)
Thanks!

An upgrade would be to a higher deck. Thus your kids would not even be on the same deck. I do not think that would be a good idea.

Chances are that you will not see your kids much anyways.
The only time its going to make a differents is night time. the day time they will be all over inless you plan on them staying with you.

I just got back from a cruise with my kids they are 13 and 10 did not see them except at night around 10 to 11 pm when they where ready for bed lol. I think i seen them about three times a day when out to see
that was great lol.

I like my kids across from me or next to me (16, 14, 14, 12 & 9)..... I know what you mean by them being mature etc., but I still prefer to know they are sleeping next to me!! :)

stay where you are. That would be my advise... I am not saying you shouldn't trust your kids, just dont' trust other passengers.

Yeah, you're right. I thought about it and I think I would sleep better knowing if they needed something I'd be right across the hall. I'll save my selfish upgrade wants for when we cruise alone! :)
Happy sailing!

LOL! Don't worry Val, you're not selfish. Being a mom doesn't mean that your wants and desires go away... it just means that you never get what you want... or desire!
