OK ladies I need some help.

I am going on Carnival Elation the week of March 14th-21st. The cruise is to the western carribean. I have NOOO idea what to pack. How is the weather going to be like? Bring sweatshirts, tanktops, jeans.... what? I don't want to bring too much but then again I want to be prepared.

Thanks!

Hi,

Check out Cruisediva.com for packing lists. They are quite helpful for both men and women. :)

Unless you need jeans for horseback riding, don't bother to take them. It will be too warm. Tank tops are o.k. for the beach and around the pool, but not for the evening. Light weight blouses that you could wear during the day and also in the evening would be good. Remember during the day, you might be around the pool most of the time so all you need is a bathing suit, t-shirt and a smile! Enjoy!

We were in the Western Carribean in Feb and it was shorts weather. I brought a few pairs of jeans for on the ship cause when you're outside and it's sailing it can get chilly in the evening. But I would pack more shorts then anything!

Don't forget plastic bags. We took sandwich size, gallon size and a couple of garbage bags and we used them for all kinds of things - wet clothes, protecting things in the beach bag, etc. etc.

I always bring a pair or two of jeans......to wear outside around the ship or to the shows at night.......the lounges can be chilly.

Hi Jettagirl!

I asked around on another board about this as well! I am going on a week long southern caribbean cruise.

I am bringing four or so sundresses (cotton/rayon/silk), several skort style skirts/shorts, regular shorts, as well as several just-above-the-knee summer skirts.

I wear a lot of sport-tanks. Nike makes some nice tanks which you can work-out in, they have a built in bra and come in an array of GORGEOUS colors. I have about half a dozen of them in different bright colors - I plan to pair them with my skirts/skorts/shorts for days on the ship, and for shore excursions.

I am also bringing a lightweight crinkly cotton white cover-up shirt (just a very lightweight button up, long sleeve shirt), to wear on the islands over my tanks, it will help to dress-up tanks a little, and protect my fair skin from the sun.

The sundresses are for dinners - as is the gown I am bringing. :)

Hope I could help! I have been obsessing about my clothes as well! hee hee

We cruised the Western Caribbean in March 2000 and unless the weather has changed alot I am not sure why you are bringing jeans and a sweat shirt, Its the Caribbean not Alaska. We were never cold and were just fine in light weight slacks and
or a long sleeve shirt or summer weight sweater. Leave the sweats at home.

Enjoy your trip.

When we were sailing to the western carribean in Feb it was cold in the evenings, especially while cruising out in the middle of the ocean with the ocean breeze. I found a light sweater or sweatshirt at night while out on the open deck was something I'm glad I brought!
