Camera card readers?

Does anyone know if the computers in the Internet Cafe area have camera card readers? I would like to transfer pictures from the camera card to a memory stick? OR, is there a photo processing area that will transfer the pictures to a cd for a fee? I am trying to not have to bring my laptop.

Ahoy Matey and welcome to Cruise @ddicts. :spyglass:

Not sure about the computers but I'm pretty sure the photo department on board does transfer to CD's. They will be happy to overcharge you for that service.

Another thought is that when you are in port you could find a drug store or camera store that will do it for you for much cheaper.

I'm sure someone will have a more definite answer.

You will not be able to access any of the input ports on the ship's computers except the keyboard and the mouse. Since I had regular film transferred to a CD (instead of having prints made) the photo department can transfer pictures from a memory card to a CD with no problem.

We had the same problem a few cruises ago and solved it by investing in extra camera cards. Don't know where you are from, but we have a store called Frys here in southern California that has specials on camera cards all the time.
Good luck

for what you pay for extra cards you can almost purchase a new camera with 8gb flash mem on board. or a new camera that will support up to 32gb SDHC flash memory. Also a newer camera will also give you more photo options as well.

Like for me, i have an older camera which is only 4mp, and will only support a 2gb sd mem card. I am considering upgrading to a 8mp camera that supports SDHC up to 16gb. Like the Kodak easy share link below, sells for under $100.00

after looking around... i found that for about 20-50 dollars more i can get a 12-15mp camera with most of the bells and whistles too... so i'll probably not buy the kodak ES.. probably go with a fujifilm finepix 12.2mp it costs about the same as a kodak ES...

Now if only Finding a good mid priced HDD camcorder was so easy... I'm very disapointed in my miniDVD camcorder... failed to finalize all my discs from last cruise ,oooohhhh i'm sooo pissed i spent money on that P.O.S.... am currently looking at the JVC everio brand HDD players, they seem like a good camcorder for the money spent...
