We are getting close to the deadline. We have narrowed it down between Dolphin close encounters in Nassau or Seahorse -sailing & snorkling.
Has anyone done either of these??? This is for my husband and myself. Also, my husband wants to wear a shirt & tie on formal night. Will he feel out of place without a jacket?

I can only answer your formal night question, sorta. Most men do wear a nice, usually dark suit (including the jacket) or a tux. However, I have also seen a few men go less formal. Its impossible to say whether or not your husband will feel out of place, only he can know that. Will he be in the minority? Yep. So it all just depends if you two are ok with that. I know some men just dont like to wear a suit/jacket (mine included). Our first few cruises, we simply opted out of formal nights... but on our last cruise, he brought and wore a jacket both nights. He was fine, tolerated it even though he didnt love it. If you really want to dress up and do the formal night, see if you can appeal to him to do it too just for a few hours for your sake (if it matters to you)... it does make for a nice keepsake photo. If its not important enough to push him to step out of his comfort zone, then dont. You'll get different views on this, its kind of a "hot button" topic. There are those who believe that you should either conform or just not participate at all. There are others who believe its your vacation paid for by your dollars, do whatever you want.

My suggestion... if you are packing a garment bag with formal wear for yourself, toss a jacket in there for him and decide that night. That way, if he wants to, you're prepared. If he doesnt want to, not much packing space wasted. Hope you have a nice time either way.

I see you're going on the MJ .The shorter cruises tend to have less of a formal night atmosphere........Seems less and less people really dress up on the 3/4 nighters........there will be some in tuxes, some in suits, some in shirt and ties and in nothing more then dockers and a shirt.....

If your husband really doesnt want to dress up and you feel uncomfortable, you can always eat in the Windjammer(which is much nicer at night than the day).....or just eat in the dining room......in fact, your waiter will insist,no matter what you're wearing....

Cant help with excursions..........never do the ship ones...............

I'm partial to snorkeling. I do have a friend who is crazy about the dolphin encounter. Tough choice to be sure.

We ended up booking the Sea & See. I told my husband he should bring a jacket he said, oh yeaa I planned on it. He doesn't mind wearing it just thinks he can pack light!
