Can you use Crown and Anchor on Celebrity?

My bro wants to plan his 3rd cruise and is a Crown and Anchor member and the cruise he wants to go on is on Celebrity....Are the RCCL and Celebrity programs interchangeable?

Not yet but sometime next year according to the most recent Crown and Anchor magazine.

I asked that same question today, but in reverse (because of things I've read recently). I asked Celebrity if my Captain's Club credits would apply to RCCL. I have 16 Celebrity cruises and have never sailed with RCCL. I was told I could sail RCCL as a Diamond member, the equal to Celebrity Elite level.

they are combining them next year, so if you are one you became the same level at the other. That would be nice since I am a Diamond member so when they do it I will be an elite member in the Captain Club.

The new program is scheduled to begin in early 2005, at least that is what RCI said in their last issue of Crown and Anchor mag. :wave

I'm a little bummed as to the way they are doing it...
It works well for those who have attained higher levels on one line but have never sailed the other...

Some of us, though, have sailed the combined lines 10 times (or ten equivalent credits), but 5 on each...making me Select/Platinum...So, we're at the middle levels on both...and still 5 sailings on one or the other away from the top level on either...There's no advantage to the "reciprocity"...

Theoretically, I could take 8 more cruises without reaching Elite/Diamond status...while the guys who's done 10 three-nighters on RCCL can book a Celebrity cruise as and Elite member!!!

I would drop them a line and mention your concerns BruinSteve.
I was surprised after I emailed them my question about this...that they responded so quickly...(the next day)
I think they are still working out all the details...and this could be something they overlooked.
My reply did say that all members would receive something in the mail once it is all finalized.
Good luck

When we returned from the Monarch in July, I enrolled in the C&A as soon as we got back, but never ever heard from them. After I read this thread last night, I emailed RCCL and told them that yadda yadda I had enrolled, did they lose my application? They got back to me pretty fast, and said that I was enrolled with 2 sailings to my credit (how did they figure that? Me and DH? On same first time cruise???), and I would get my mailings in about 6 weeks....

I cruise on Celebrity in June, so hopefully it counts for something... ???

Glo what category room did you have on the Monarch? If it was one of the suite categories you get 2 credits. I'm already at Diamond and Diamond plus won't be far behind but don't see much advantage to me combining clubs but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

We had a jr. suite, so I guess that does count as two credits... But I'm confused how this will work... oh well... I'll probably never be able to take enough cruises to count, so....

Glo,
As mentioned above you have the 2 credits because you were in a Junior Suite. On RCI you get double credits for sailing in a Junior Suite or above, also for longer cruises. So all you need is a couple of cruises in the same cabin Cat. and you will be at a higher level on both cruise lines. The credits can add up fast :thumb so yes you may sail enough to make it count. After 5 credits, you become a platinum member in RCI and there are many benifits to belonging to it. So either 5 cruises in a standard cabin or 5 credits from either the # of cruises or from staying in a suite will get you there. Just think 2 more cruises in a junior suite and you will have 6 credits and be a Platinum member :jump Not bad :thumb Oh and you would also be at the equal level for Celebrity and you wouldn't have even had to sail on Celebrity for all those cruises!

I think a lot of people are confused as they think that this works like airlines where you can earn miles on an airline and have the choice to put those miles toward another frequent flyer program. It is different because they want you to have the same benefit on one line as you would have on another. Frankly I think what they are doing is more than fair. You do have to reach a higher level on at least one line to get the perks of both.
