I think a lot of people are confused as they think that this works like airlines where you can earn miles on an airline and have the choice to put those miles toward another frequent flyer program. It is different because they want you to have the same benefit on one line as you would have on another. Frankly I think what they are doing is more than fair. You do have to reach a higher level on at least one line to get the perks of both.
